Seen in Kineton in the snow today – 23 bird species.

Blackbird, Blackcap, Blue Tit, Carrion Crow, Chaffinch, Coal Tit, Dunnock, Fieldfare, Goldfinch, Great Tit, Greenfinch, House Sparrow, Jackdaw, Long-tailed Tit, Redpoll, Redwing, Reed Bunting, Robin, Song Thrush, Starling, Treecreeper, Woodpigeon, Yellowhammer

Two good places – Redwings, Blackbirds and Song Thrushes hunting for minibeasts in the leaf-litter under the cherry trees by the road between Kineton and Little Kineton; and the scrubby patch over the stile next to Kineton Sports and Social Club, which has teasels and thistles – a lovely mix of Goldfinches, Yellowhammers, Reed Buntings (rather like sparrows with black-topped heads) and a Redpoll on the stinging nettle seeds.  It might not look much to people, but the birds love it!

(Bird records added to BirdTrack, the British Trust for Ornithology’s bird recording website.)
