Hare-um scare-um

A large hare bounded into the headlights and crossed Lighthorne Road late last night – looked eerily like a ghost as it effortlessly leapt through a ploughed field and vanished into the night. It could easily give some drivers a scare.

Then, today, we saw a hare – as red as a fox – up on Bredon Hill, slowly making its way along the foot of a stone wall and no doubt seeking shelter from the icy ferocious wind. From the top we could clearly see the first white stuff of the season – dustings of snow on Cleeve Common above Cheltenham and atop Titterstone Clee in distant Shropshire.
