Feel the buzz

Hundreds of bees are now buzzing around the blossom on the lime trees – their soporific hum seems to say they are well satisfied this year. The late flush of the lime flowers is one of the last big blooms and allows the bees to gather gather plenty of pollen. Lime pollen honey can be particularly tasty!

  1. Honey bees also seem to very much like Rhus typhina blooms (Stag’s-horn sumach) – greatly preferred (by about 50 bees) over the Cotoneaster next to it, which the Tree Bees prefer (Bombus hypnorum).
