Jackdaws seem to have moved into the new owl box – not wholly unexpected since they took up residence once or twice in the old one – but at least the tawny is still hooting nearby. A clattering (that’s the collective noun!) of jackdaws is often to be seen and heard in the churchyard plane trees.
“Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz” – that’s an apangram… i.e. containing all 26 letters of the alphabet!
