Murmurations

A decent sized murmuration of starlings swept east yesterday (straight over “Flower Thyme” to be precise!) at around 4.45pm. Four years ago a large flock overnighted during December, January and February in a tall leylandii hedge near the primary school and looking out for their sudden descent into the dark foliage became a daily ritual. Where were they heading for last night?
