At the wicket…Buzzard and Brimstone

The Sunday morning cricket tournament at the Sports and Social Club welomed a couple of new spectators – a buzzard drifted and mewed overhead, whilst a brimstone zig-zagged across the pitch and disappeared somewhere over the pavilion. At first I was hopeful it was a clouded yellow but I dashed across the boundary, dodged a six, and saw it had the characteristic points on its buttery yellow wings.
