Damselflies and tadpoles

The warm sunshine brought a pair of Large Red Damselflies to a small garden pond in Banbury Street today, and a couple of large tadpoles decided to come to the surface for some air – surprising, as they hadn’t been spotted since they emerged from the frogspawn several weeks ago, and we’d thought the newts had eaten them all.
