Spring in the air at last

Brimstone butterflies are now out (although I spotted one in Kineton back on March 5th when we had that sole day of warm sunshine!), plus some peacocks and small tortoiseshells. Look out for orange tips if the weather now stays warm. The best butterfly sighting today was by the lock at Bancroft Basin during the Shakespeare Day celebratiions – an extremely large brown and white tropical species flew by and on towards the theatre. No prizes for guessing where it will have come from!
