The article in the last issue of “Outlook” hopefully encouraged you to keep an eye out for our local toads, which will have been making their way towards their traditional spawning grounds. Sadly, one large specimen has already been found squashed in the Market Square – please take care when travelling around the village! Last night’s toad watch at 9.30pm found just one male on a path where six or seven have sometimes been seen in the past. Maybe the late spring has had an effect? Numbers can fluctuate from one year to the next so please keep a look out over the coming days.
